The World Championship Format.

The 2019 World Championship will take place in Sheffield, England from 20 April to 6 May. It will be the last event in the current snooker season. The championship will involve 32-player draw that will take place at Crucible Theatre. The Institute of Sport hosted a 128-player draw between 10th and 17th April 2019. It ended a few days before the primary draw. The championship will apply the knockout format.

The main snooker draw featured the leading 16 players in the snooker world rankings. Mark Williams was seeded as the best player overall. The organizers allocated the other fifteen seeds according to the current world ranking of a particular player. They were released after the China Open. Naturally, the number of frames a player needs to win a game changed with each round. The players played it as best of 35 frames.

Snooker players from the rounds filled the 16 non-seeded slots in the major draw. The qualifying draw comprised 128 players. Some of them took part in the World Snooker Tour while the others were non-tour players with 22 wildcard slots. Seeded players comprised half of the players in the snooker-qualifying draw.

Qualifying Rounds.

James Cahill was the first amateur snooker player to advance to the World Championship at Crucible Theatre. The English Institute of Sport hosted the qualifying rounds to determine the 16 players who would progress to the championship finals. They featured 128 players. James defeated Michael Judge in the third round. Seven snooker players progressed to the qualifying rounds.

Players who advanced to the main stage included Ali Carter, Graeme Dott, Michael Georgiou, and Luo Honghao. Qualifying rounds ended on 17 April 2019. Barry Hearn, the global snooker chairman made the draw for the championship's first round on 18 April. All first round matches lasted for two sessions.
